Collectors who, on August 24, 1975, had vehicles registered and licensed as historical vehicles shall be permitted to retain such registration and license if the collector submits an affidavit to the department sworn to by the vehicle owner that the vehicle is being collected, preserved, restored, and maintained as a hobby and not for the general use of the vehicle.

- Affidavit: A written statement of facts confirmed by the oath of the party making it, before a notary or officer having authority to administer oaths.
- Collector: means the owner of one or more historical vehicles who collects, purchases, acquires, trades, or disposes of such historical vehicles or parts thereof for his or her own use in order to preserve, restore, and maintain a historical vehicle or vehicles for hobby purposes. - Department: means the Department of Motor Vehicles. See Nebraska Statutes 60-319
- Owner: means a person, firm, or corporation which holds a legal title of a motor vehicle or trailer. See Nebraska Statutes 60-342
- Sworn: shall include affirmed in all cases in which an affirmation may be substituted for an oath. See Nebraska Statutes 49-801
