Terms Used In Nebraska Statutes 68-140

  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • Person: shall include bodies politic and corporate, societies, communities, the public generally, individuals, partnerships, limited liability companies, joint-stock companies, and associations. See Nebraska Statutes 49-801

(1) To examine the county file pertaining to his or her case prior to and during the hearing;

(2) To be represented in the proceedings by a lawyer, friend, relative, or anyone else he or she may select;

(3) To present evidence; and

(4) To confront and cross-examine witnesses.
