A subject shall appear personally and be afforded the opportunity to testify in his or her own behalf and to present witnesses and tangible evidence in defending against the petition at the hearing.
Terms Used In Nebraska Statutes 71-952
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- Subject: means any person concerning whom a certificate or petition has been filed under the Nebraska Mental Health Commitment Act. See Nebraska Statutes 71-912
- Testify: Answer questions in court.
