Within twenty days from the time of service of the complaint and notice the licensee may file his or her sworn answer thereto which shall contain all defenses which he or she intends to assert. No motions or other pleadings shall be authorized.

Terms Used In Nebraska Statutes 81-885.26

  • Answer: The formal written statement by a defendant responding to a civil complaint and setting forth the grounds for defense.
  • Complaint: A written statement by the plaintiff stating the wrongs allegedly committed by the defendant.
  • Licensee: shall mean a natural person who is licensed by the commission as a real estate broker or salesperson. See Nebraska Statutes 81-885.50
  • Pleadings: Written statements of the parties in a civil case of their positions. In the federal courts, the principal pleadings are the complaint and the answer.
  • Sworn: shall include affirmed in all cases in which an affirmation may be substituted for an oath. See Nebraska Statutes 49-801
