Terms Used In Nebraska Statutes > Nursing Home Administrator Practice Act

  • Accredited institution: means a postsecondary educational institution approved by the board. See Nebraska Statutes 38-2403
  • Action: shall include any proceeding in any court of this state. See Nebraska Statutes 49-801
  • Administrator or nursing home administrator: means any individual who meets the education and training requirements of section Nebraska Statutes 38-2404
  • Administrator-in-training: means a person who is undergoing training to become a nursing home administrator and is directly supervised in a nursing home by a certified preceptor. See Nebraska Statutes 38-2405
  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
  • Board: means the Board of Nursing Home Administration. See Nebraska Statutes 38-2406
  • Certified preceptor: means a person who is currently licensed by the State of Nebraska as a nursing home administrator, has three years of experience as a nursing home administrator, has practiced within the last two years in a nursing home, and is approved by the department to supervise an administrator-in-training or a person in a mentoring program.   • Company: shall include any corporation, partnership, limited liability company, joint-stock company, joint venture, or association. See Nebraska Statutes 49-801

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Month: shall mean calendar month. See Nebraska Statutes 49-801
  • Nursing degree: means a degree or diploma in nursing from an accredited program of nursing approved by the Board of Nursing. See Nebraska Statutes 38-2413
