1.  Any provision contained in a declaration, bylaw or other governing document of a condominium hotel that violates the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed to conform with those provisions by operation of law, and any such declaration, bylaw or other governing document is not required to be amended to conform to those provisions.

  • Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.

2.  In the case of amendments to a declaration, bylaws or plats of any condominium hotel created before January 1, 2008:

(a) If the result accomplished by the amendment was permitted before January 1, 2008, the amendment may be made in accordance with that law, in which case that law applies to that amendment, or it may be made under this chapter; and

(b) If the result accomplished by the amendment is permitted by this chapter and was not permitted by law before January 1, 2008, the amendment may be made under this chapter.
