A contract of membership may be cancelled at the option of the member if the member sends notice of the cancellation by certified mail, return receipt requested, to the developer, posted not later than midnight of the 5th calendar day following the day on which the contract was signed. This right must be set forth in the contract of membership in close proximity to the member’s signature line. Within 20 days after the developer receives a notice of cancellation, the contract of membership, the membership card and other evidence of the membership, the developer shall refund to the former member any money paid as a deposit, down payment or other consideration.
