Nevada Revised Statutes 304.090 – Omitted area: Attachment to appropriate congressional district
1. If any area of this State is omitted from the shapefile adopted by NRS 304.095 inadvertently or by virtue of the complexities of the information supplied to the Legislature, the county clerk, the Carson City clerk or the Director of the Legislative Counsel Bureau, upon discovery of the omission, shall notify the Secretary of State of the omission. The Secretary of State shall attach that area to the appropriate congressional district as follows:

- county: includes Carson City. See Nevada Revised Statutes 0.033
- Discovery: Lawyers' examination, before trial, of facts and documents in possession of the opponents to help the lawyers prepare for trial.
- population: means the number of people in a specified area as determined by the last preceding national decennial census conducted by the Bureau of the Census of the United States Department of Commerce pursuant to Section 2 of Nevada Revised Statutes 0.050
(a) If the area is surrounded by a congressional district, the area must be attached to that district.
(b) If the area is contiguous to two or more congressional districts, the area must be attached to the district that has the least population.
2. Any attachments made pursuant to the provisions of this section must be certified in writing and filed with the Director of the Legislative Counsel Bureau and with the Secretary of State. No change may be made in any attachments until the districts are again reapportioned.
