Before the Board or the Director may enter into an agreement providing for a study of the operations of the Department, the process to be used to select a person to perform the study and the proposed agreement for the study must be approved by the Legislature by concurrent resolution, or by the Interim Finance Committee if the Legislature is not in session.

Terms Used In Nevada Revised Statutes 408.118

  • Concurrent resolution: A legislative measure, designated "S. Con. Res." and numbered consecutively upon introduction, generally employed to address the sentiments of both chambers, to deal with issues or matters affecting both houses, such as a concurrent budget resolution, or to create a temporary joint committee. Concurrent resolutions are not submitted to the President/Governor and thus do not have the force of law.
  • person: means a natural person, any form of business or social organization and any other nongovernmental legal entity including, but not limited to, a corporation, partnership, association, trust or unincorporated organization. See Nevada Revised Statutes 0.039
