Except as otherwise provided in NRS 482.463, upon the rescission or cancellation of the registration of any vehicle pursuant to NRS 482.460 to 482.475, inclusive, or the surrender of the corresponding license plates, no refund of the registration fees or governmental services taxes paid for the vehicle may be allowed by the Department.

- Department: means the Department of Motor Vehicles. See Nevada Revised Statutes 481.015
- Rescission: The cancellation of budget authority previously provided by Congress. The Impoundment Control Act of 1974 specifies that the President may propose to Congress that funds be rescinded. If both Houses have not approved a rescission proposal (by passing legislation) within 45 days of continuous session, any funds being withheld must be made available for obligation.
