‘Merger’ means that consolidation of corporate structures which results in the uniting of substantially all the assets and liabilities of one state-chartered savings bank with those of another such savings bank or state bank or with those of a federal savings bank or national bank, or other insured depository institution.

- Assets: (1) The property comprising the estate of a deceased person, or (2) the property in a trust account.
- Liabilities: The aggregate of all debts and other legal obligations of a particular person or legal entity.
- National Bank: A bank that is subject to the supervision of the Comptroller of the Currency. The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency is a bureau of the U.S. Treasury Department.
