Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 125-F:20
- Radiation: means ionizing radiation and nonionizing radiation:
(a) "Ionizing radiation" means gamma rays and x-rays, alpha and beta particles, high speed electrons, neutrons, protons, and other nuclear particles, but not sound or radio waves or visible, infrared or ultraviolet light;
(b) "Nonionizing radiation" means:
(1) Any electromagnetic radiation other than ionizing radiation which the program determines by rule to present a biological hazard to the occupational or public health and safety; and
(2) Any sonic, ultrasonic, or infrasonic wave which the program determines by rule to present a biological hazard to the occupational or public health or safety. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 125-F:3
Nothing in this chapter shall be interpreted as limiting reasonable intentional exposure of patients to radiation by members of any legally recognized healing profession as authorized by law.
