New Hampshire Revised Statutes 147-C:3 – Committee Membership

There shall be at least 5, but no more than 9, persons appointed to serve on the committee. At least one member shall be a chemical engineer if such a person is available for appointment. The governing body shall:
I. Appoint to the committee one or more members of:
(a) The planning board, if any,
(b) The board of adjustment, if any,
(c) The conservation commission, if any, and
(d) The fire department, if any; and
II. Appoint one of its own members to serve on the committee; and
III. Appoint one or more additional residents of the town to serve on the committee.

- governing body: shall mean the board of selectmen in a town, the board of aldermen or council in a city or town with a town council, the school board in a school district or the village district commissioners in a village district, or when used to refer to unincorporated towns or unorganized places, or both, the county commissioners. - person: may extend and be applied to bodies corporate and politic as well as to individuals. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:9
