In municipal fire departments organized under N.H. Rev. Stat. § 154:1, all fire department real estate or equipment purchased with funds appropriated by the municipality shall be the property of the municipality. Except in the case of properly established capital reserve funds or trusts, all municipal funds appropriated for fire department purposes shall be held by the municipal treasurer and shall be subject to the municipality’s normal budgeting, appropriation, and disbursement authorization requirements. Donations or gifts to a municipal fire department shall be subject to applicable legal requirements for acceptance by the municipality, including, but not limited to N.H. Rev. Stat. § 31:95-b or 31:95-e.
