- Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
If the repairs or alterations are not made within 5 days after notice as provided in N.H. Rev. Stat. § 154:20, unless upon application to the firewards or engineers an extension has been granted for reasonable cause, the owner or occupant so notified shall be guilty of a violation for each day’s neglect, and shall be liable to the owner of any building or property consumed by fire, communicated from such dangerous building, for the damages suffered by the owner.
