Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 1:2

  • Advice and consent: Under the Constitution, presidential nominations for executive and judicial posts take effect only when confirmed by the Senate, and international treaties become effective only when the Senate approves them by a two-thirds vote.
  • state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
The governor, with the advice and consent of the council, shall authorize the commissioner of the department of transportation in consultation with the attorney general to notify and make such arrangements with the proper authorities of the adjoining state as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this chapter.
