Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 212:7
- Deed: The legal instrument used to transfer title in real property from one person to another.
- Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.
- Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
- state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
The title to any land acquired by purchase, gift, or lease, shall be approved by the attorney general and shall be taken by the executive director in the name of the state. The deed to any such land or property shall be deposited with the secretary of state. The entire control of such land shall be under the direction of the executive director.
