- petition: when used in connection with the equity jurisdiction of the superior court, and referring to a document filed with the court, shall mean complaint, and "petitioner" shall mean plaintiff. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:51
The superior court, on petition and notice to the county commissioners, may order any part of the expense of repairing a highway to be paid by the county, when the whole would be burdensome to the town, or when the county convention has recommended such order.
