- Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
The landowner shall be entitled to damages sustained by the erection, maintenance, and removal of such fence. If the commissioner of transportation and the landowner are unable to agree on such damages the commissioner of transportation shall assess the damages sustained.
