- Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
The landowner shall be entitled to damages occasioned by the erection, maintenance and removal of such fence. Either party may apply to the selectmen or the city council for the assessment of damages, and such proceedings shall be had as in the assessment of damages for the laying out of highways by selectmen.
