Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 237:38

  • governor and council: shall mean the governor with the advice and consent of the council. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:31-a
  • state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
Prior to the issuance of the bonds hereunder the state treasurer, with the approval of the governor and council, may for the purposes hereof borrow money from time to time on short term loans which may be refunded by the issuance of the bonds hereunder. Provided, however, that at no one time shall the indebtedness of the state on such short term loans exceed the sum of $19,350,000.
