- Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
- state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
The final form of the county budget and the final form of all supplemental county appropriations adopted in accordance with N.H. Rev. Stat. § 24:14-a shall be filed with the secretary of state‘s office and the commissioner of revenue administration in accordance with the timeframes established in N.H. Rev. Stat. § 21-J:34, XII and XIV. Prior to said filing, the budget or supplemental appropriation shall be signed by the chairperson and clerk of the county convention.
