I. Private school bus owners or school bus lines shall be entitled to a refund of any tolls paid by them when their vehicles are being used exclusively to transport pupils to and from public schools or public school activities by virtue of a contract with a municipality, municipal board, or school board authority to the extent that the amount of tolls paid on motor fuel was used in these activities. No private school bus owners or school bus lines shall be entitled to a refund for an amount less than $10, and no payment of any refund shall be made to any person other than the private school bus owners or school bus lines entitled to it. The entitlement to a refund shall not include a refund on any penalties or interest paid. The application for a refund filed by private school bus owners and school bus lines shall be accompanied by such documentary evidence as the commissioner may require.
II. All applications for refunds shall be made under penalty of unsworn falsification pursuant to N.H. Rev. Stat. § 641:3, and shall be filed with the department no later than the deadline provided under N.H. Rev. Stat. § 260:47, III.

Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 260:52-b
- Bus: shall mean every motor vehicle designed for carrying more than 10 passengers and used for transportation of persons; and every motor vehicle, other than a taxicab, designed and used for the transportation of persons for compensation. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 259:7
- Commissioner: shall mean the commissioner of safety. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 259:13
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Department: shall mean the department of safety of the state of New Hampshire. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 259:19
- Entitlement: A Federal program or provision of law that requires payments to any person or unit of government that meets the eligibility criteria established by law. Entitlements constitute a binding obligation on the part of the Federal Government, and eligible recipients have legal recourse if the obligation is not fulfilled. Social Security and veterans' compensation and pensions are examples of entitlement programs.
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- Motor fuel: shall mean all products used in an internal combustion engine for the generation of power to propel motor vehicles or mechanical contrivances on or over the ways of this state. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 259:58
- Person: shall mean the same as provided in N. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 259:74
- School bus: shall mean a vehicle owned by a public or governmental agency, or a privately owned vehicle, including a station wagon, suburban, panel body vehicle and vehicles converted to a school bus, but excluding a passenger vehicle, employed solely in transporting school children to and from school or school activities by virtue of a contract with a municipality, municipal board or school board authorities.
