Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 293-C:3

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
A benefit corporation shall be incorporated in accordance with N.H. Rev. Stat. § 293-A:2.01 through N.H. Rev. Stat. § 293-A:2.07, but its articles of incorporation shall also state that it is a benefit corporation. The name of a benefit corporation must meet the requirements of N.H. Rev. Stat. § 293-A:4.01, but may use the abbreviation “PBC” in lieu of “corp.”, “inc.”, or “ltd.”
