- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
If the provisional corporation shall not take the necessary steps and become a railroad corporation within 2 years after the time of the record of its articles of agreement in the office of the secretary of state, its existence as a corporation shall terminate.
