Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 374:44

  • Injunction: An order of the court prohibiting (or compelling) the performance of a specific act to prevent irreparable damage or injury.
  • petition: when used in connection with the equity jurisdiction of the superior court, and referring to a document filed with the court, shall mean complaint, and "petitioner" shall mean plaintiff. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:51
  • Writ: A formal written command, issued from the court, requiring the performance of a specific act.
The final judgment in any such action or proceeding shall either dismiss the action or proceeding, or direct that a writ of mandamus, an injunction or other appropriate process shall issue as prayed for in the petition, or in such modified or other form as the court may determine will afford appropriate relief.
