- National Bank: A bank that is subject to the supervision of the Comptroller of the Currency. The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency is a bureau of the U.S. Treasury Department. A national bank can be recognized because it must have "national" or "national association" in its name. Source: OCC

A national bank or federal savings bank located in this state which follows the procedure prescribed by federal laws to convert into a depository bank, shall be granted a charter in this state if the commissioner finds that the bank meets the standards as to office location, capital structure, and business experience of officers and directors for the incorporation of a depository bank under RSA 383-A.
