I. The purpose of this chapter is to promote the public welfare by creating a comprehensive legal framework within which travel insurance may be sold in this state.
II. The requirements of this chapter shall apply to travel insurance that covers any resident of this state, and is sold, solicited, negotiated, or offered in this state, and policies and certificates are delivered or issued for delivery in this state. It shall not apply to cancellation fee waivers or travel assistance services, except as expressly provided in this chapter.

Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 402-L:9

  • state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4

III. All other applicable provisions of this state’s insurance laws shall continue to apply to travel insurance except that the specific provisions of this chapter shall supersede any general provisions of law that would otherwise be applicable to travel insurance.
