Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 41:55

  • Liabilities: The aggregate of all debts and other legal obligations of a particular person or legal entity.
  • person: may extend and be applied to bodies corporate and politic as well as to individuals. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:9
  • state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
If any person holding the office of town treasurer shall, by reason of illness, accident, absence from the state or other cause, become temporarily incapacitated and unable to perform the duties of his office, the selectmen may, unless the town has voted to adopt the provisions of N.H. Rev. Stat. § 41:29-a, declare a temporary vacancy and appoint an acting town treasurer to perform the duties of the office for a limited period of time, and fix his compensation and the amount of his bond. Said appointee shall be subject to the requirements and liabilities of such office during his term.
