Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 42:8

  • Oath: A promise to tell the truth.
  • oath: shall include "affirmation" in all cases where by law an affirmation may be substituted for an oath; and, in like cases, the word "sworn" shall include the word "affirmed. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:24
The town clerk shall make a record of every oath of a town officer taken in open town meeting at the time of the election, and of every such oath taken before him at any other time and place, the import of which record may be that the officer took the oath of office prescribed by law; and he shall record and keep on file every certificate filed with him pursuant to N.H. Rev. Stat. § 42:7.
