Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 430:17
- Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
- governing body: shall mean the board of selectmen in a town, the board of aldermen or council in a city or town with a town council, the school board in a school district or the village district commissioners in a village district, or when used to refer to unincorporated towns or unorganized places, or both, the county commissioners. The fiscal year of each mosquito control district shall be concurrent with the fiscal year of the local governing body of that district; further, the mosquito abatement season shall be that season when the mosquito can be best contained on a temporary or permanent control basis.
