Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 434:43
- Power of attorney: A written instrument which authorizes one person to act as another's agent or attorney. The power of attorney may be for a definite, specific act, or it may be general in nature. The terms of the written power of attorney may specify when it will expire. If not, the power of attorney usually expires when the person granting it dies. Source: OCC
- Service of process: The service of writs or summonses to the appropriate party.
- state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
All residents giving bond, as provided under N.H. Rev. Stat. § 434:45, and all nonresidents shall, prior to receiving such a license, file with the secretary of state a power of attorney, appointing the secretary the applicant’s agent for receiving service of process, returnable to any court within this state; and shall also file a copy of such power of attorney with the commissioner of agriculture, markets, and food.
