Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 491:10-a
- petition: when used in connection with the equity jurisdiction of the superior court, and referring to a document filed with the court, shall mean complaint, and "petitioner" shall mean plaintiff. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:51

- Trial: A hearing that takes place when the defendant pleads "not guilty" and witnesses are required to come to court to give evidence.
Upon petition by either party before or during any hearing or trial, the court may in its discretion allow said party to record the proceedings by any recording device. Said recordings shall be made at the expense of the petitioner and no fee shall be levied by the court against either party for this recording.
