Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 496:5

  • Clerk of court: An officer appointed by the court to work with the chief judge in overseeing the court's administration, especially to assist in managing the flow of cases through the court and to maintain court records.
  • justice: when applied to a magistrate, shall mean a justice of a municipal court, or a justice of the peace having jurisdiction over the subject-matter. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:12
The clerk of court, and the sheriff and his deputies in attendance, shall, upon such adjournment, be allowed such extra compensation as may be reasonable, to be determined by the presiding justice.
