In recognition of the men and women who have served in the finest traditions of United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Marine Corps, and to commemorate the anniversary of the founding of each of these branches of the armed forces, the governor shall annually order the flags of the respective branches to be flown over the state house as follows:

  • state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
