Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 511:12

  • Attachment: A procedure by which a person's property is seized to pay judgments levied by the court.
  • person: may extend and be applied to bodies corporate and politic as well as to individuals. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:9
  • real estate: shall include lands, tenements, and hereditaments, and all rights thereto and interests therein. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:21
  • Writ: A formal written command, issued from the court, requiring the performance of a specific act.
The creditor, or the officer serving the writ, may demand of the person entitled to the redemption or purchase money an account, under oath, of the amount due him, and if such an account is not rendered within 15 days thereafter, or a false account is rendered, the interest of the person entitled to the redemption or purchase money in such real estate shall, as against the attachment and the rights acquired under it, cease.
