Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 522:6
- Acquittal:
- Judgement that a criminal defendant has not been proved guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
- A verdict of "not guilty."
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.

- Verdict: The decision of a petit jury or a judge.
This chapter shall apply to criminal cases subject to the following limitations and provisions: (a) An order for the tests shall be made only upon application of a party or on the court’s initiative; (b) the compensation of the experts shall be paid by the county under order of court; (c) the court may direct a verdict of acquittal upon the conclusions of all the experts under the provisions of N.H. Rev. Stat. § 522:4, otherwise the case shall be submitted for determination upon all the evidence.
