Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 53-A:2
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
For the purposes of this chapter, the term “public agency” shall mean any political subdivision of this state or of any adjoining state and any quasi-municipal corporation, including but not limited to school districts, school administrative units, village districts, regional water districts, and special districts.
