  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
If an appeal in regard to any claim is pending at the time of making a dividend, a sufficient amount shall be reserved in the hands of the assignee to satisfy the dividends that may be called for upon such claim.
