- petition: when used in connection with the equity jurisdiction of the superior court, and referring to a document filed with the court, shall mean complaint, and "petitioner" shall mean plaintiff. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:51
A partner, whenever his copartners will not join with him in a voluntary assignment, may file a petition in form and substance like a creditor’s petition in the county where any of the partners resides, praying that the firm be adjudged insolvent, and all subsequent proceedings shall be the same as those in cases involving creditors’ petitions.
