Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 594:6

  • Officer: or "peace officer" is any sheriff or deputy sheriff, mayor or city marshal, constable, police officer or watchman, member of the national guard acting under orders while in active state service ordered by the governor under N. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 594:1
  • person: may extend and be applied to bodies corporate and politic as well as to individuals. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:9
Every law enforcement officer who encounters a need for assistance in the execution of his office in a criminal case or emergency situation may require any person to render suitable aid. Any person who, when so required, neglects or refuses to give such aid shall be guilty of a violation.
