Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 598-A:2

  • Bail: Security given for the release of a criminal defendant or witness from legal custody (usually in the form of money) to secure his/her appearance on the day and time appointed.
  • Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
  • person: may extend and be applied to bodies corporate and politic as well as to individuals. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:9
A person who has been accepted as bail or surety, contrary to the provisions of this chapter, shall nevertheless be liable on his obligation as such bail or surety. Approval and registration under this chapter may be revoked at any time by the executive director of the office of professional licensure and certification and shall be revoked in case such a bondsman fails for 30 days after demand to satisfy in full a judgment recovered under N.H. Rev. Stat. § 597:33. The county attorney or prosecuting officer obtaining any such judgment which is not satisfied in full within 30 days after demand shall immediately notify the executive director of the office of professional licensure and certification or designee in writing.
