Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 621:9-a
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, a minor over whom the court has exercised jurisdiction pursuant to N.H. Rev. Stat. § 169-B:4, I or retained jurisdiction pursuant to N.H. Rev. Stat. § 169-B:4, V(c), may be committed or continue to be committed at the center pursuant to N.H. Rev. Stat. § 169-B:19, I(j) until the minor’s eighteenth birthday.
