Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 635:8

  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
  • person: may extend and be applied to bodies corporate and politic as well as to individuals. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:9
  • Restitution: The court-ordered payment of money by the defendant to the victim for damages caused by the criminal action.
Any person who is convicted of an offense under N.H. Rev. Stat. § 635:6 or 635:7 shall be guilty of a class B felony, and shall be ordered by the court to make restitution for damages resulting from the offense and for replacement of removed items.
