Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 658:20
- state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
If a town or ward clerk is absent from any state election or is unable to perform his duties and there is no deputy clerk as provided in N.H. Rev. Stat. § 41:18, a town or ward clerk pro tempore shall be appointed by the town clerk.
