Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 663:3

  • Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
  • following: when used by way of reference to any section of these laws, shall mean the section next preceding or following that in which such reference is made, unless some other is expressly designated. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:13
The following words shall be printed above the constitutional amendment questions on all ballots containing such questions: “Questions Relating to Constitutional Amendments Proposed by the Convention to Revise the Constitution” or “Questions Relating to Constitutional Amendments Proposed by the Legislature to Revise the Constitution,” whichever is appropriate. A constitutional question shall include, in the text of the question, the text of the article of the constitution as it is proposed to be amended, and the results of the vote taken on ordering the proposed amendment to third reading in both the senate and the house of representatives or at the constitutional convention, whichever is appropriate.
