- Allegation: something that someone says happened.
- Commissioner: means the commissioner of labor. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 277-A:3
- Complaint: A written statement by the plaintiff stating the wrongs allegedly committed by the defendant.
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Employee: means any person who currently works or formerly worked, with or without compensation, in a workplace. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 277-A:3
- Employee representative: means an individual or organization to which an employee gives written authorization to exercise his rights under this chapter. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 277-A:3
- Employer: means any person, firm, corporation, partnership, association, the state, any political subdivision of the state, or any other entity which is engaged in a business or in providing services and which employs employees in connection with such business or services. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 277-A:3
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- following: when used by way of reference to any section of these laws, shall mean the section next preceding or following that in which such reference is made, unless some other is expressly designated. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:13
- Freedom of Information Act: A federal law that mandates that all the records created and kept by federal agencies in the executive branch of government must be open for public inspection and copying. The only exceptions are those records that fall into one of nine exempted categories listed in the statute. Source: OCC
- month: shall mean a calendar month, and the word "year" a calendar year, unless otherwise expressed; and the word "year" shall be equivalent to the expression "year of our Lord. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:8
- Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
- person: may extend and be applied to bodies corporate and politic as well as to individuals. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:9
- Safety data sheet: means a written document prepared on a toxic substance containing all of the following information except as provided by N. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 277-A:3
- state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
- Statute: A law passed by a legislature.
- Toxic substance: means any radioactive or other substance which is defined as a toxic substance by a rule adopted pursuant to N. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 277-A:3
- Trade secret: means any confidential formula, pattern, device or compilation of information which does all of the following:
(a) Is used in the employer's business. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 277-A:3 - United States: shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
- Workplace: means any location, permanent or temporary, where an employee performs any work-related duty in the course of his employment. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 277-A:3
