Terms Used In Tennessee Code 11-12-207

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
  • Jogging trail: means any trail at least one (1) mile in length. See Tennessee Code 11-12-202
  • State land: includes any land owned, operated, or under the control or supervision of any department or agency of the state. See Tennessee Code 11-12-202

Any department or agency may appeal to the governor to remove any state land under its control or supervision from the designation as a jogging trail.
