(a) The commissioner shall make an examination of the affairs of any insurer as often as the commissioner deems it necessary for the protection of the interests of the people of this state.

Terms Used In Tennessee Code 56-43-113

  • Commissioner: means the commissioner of commerce and insurance. See Tennessee Code 56-43-103
  • Insurer: means any person who obtains a certificate of authority under this chapter. See Tennessee Code 56-43-103
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
(b) The provisions concerning financial valuations and examinations of companies, compiled in chapter 1, part 4 of this title, apply to examinations conducted under this chapter.
