(a) The commissioner has the power to compel the attendance of witnesses and the production of evidence, by subpoena, to administer oaths and to take testimony in relation to any matter under this part and part 3 of this chapter.

Terms Used In Tennessee Code 67-8-403

  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • Record: means information that is inscribed on a tangible medium or that is stored in an electronic or other medium and is retrievable in a perceivable form. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
  • Subpoena: A command to a witness to appear and give testimony.
  • Testimony: Evidence presented orally by witnesses during trials or before grand juries.
(b) Witnesses shall receive the same fees as are paid other witnesses in courts of record, such fees to be a part of the cost of administration.
